With our new way of living and learning. This may as well be a reprise of the first artwork on “Hop Along Little Bunny”, but this time, it emphasizes the artist, a narrative.

An abstract-expressionistic painting and a draped cloth, in which I call “the veil”, is adorned with random items, a juxtaposition of mood swings and the artist’s Zen contrasting each other. A seven-day process.

The small photographs at the sides are the paintings of 6 layers corresponding to different moods the artist felt each of those seven days. From the Saturday mood till Thursday, only the Friday mood is the final big canvas, representing anxiety but then drained energy. The white drips representing the artist’s tears, crying herself to sleep at one night. There is a faint face outline, but it’s covered by the “veil”.

Depression is relatable, quite universal. To the point that the artist can’t help but honestly share her emotions throughout the days, whether they are sad or happy. “Unveiling” her emotions that were hidden from her family and their quirks of worrisome. But sometimes, bottling it all up may lead to breakdowns.

Thus, filtering the numbness with letters, quotes, solace lyrics, sketches, lost and found things, logged panels, and even sudoku attached unto the white cloth. These things may seem insignificant to some, but they are the trinkets that held the artist together. Like the glue of a broken mask to cover those sad days. As if a different version of “Those who smile the most, cry the most”.

This does not only reflect the artist, but others as well. Like the surface of those that felt the same in different situations.
